Ramchandra P. Deshpande
Ramchandra P. Deshpande is a qualified Urban and Rural Community development expert. From volunteering to researching and educating people, he has been involved in endless activities of rural social development since 1980. His vision is to transform the scenario of the country by empowering children, the future leaders, with education without any discrimination.

Work Experience
- Engaged in social and rural development activities since 1980.
- Retired in June 2019 after leading the Social Development Trust of Tata Sons for 25 years as Project Coordinator and L&T’s Public Charitable Trust for 14 years, as Executive Secretary.
- Presently functioning as the chairman of the NGO ‘Parivartan – 84’, mainly working for promoting the education of Tribal students from Raigad and rural students from Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra.
- Co-Founder of ‘Sneh Samruddhi Mandal,’ Focusing on the development of women and children from remote villages of Ratnagiri District.
- Also function as a Volunteer of the organization ‘Vidyaadaan Sahayyak Mandal,’ based in Thane and providing educational support to talented, needy and promising students from rural districts of Maharashtra to pursue careers in 15 academic streams.
- Guided MIT University from Pune in designing two years course curriculum for students doing MBA in CSR.
- Has functioned as an advisor in the Ratnagiri District Education and Adult Education committees.
- Arranged training programs for Primary and Secondary teachers to enhance their skills in selected subjects.
- Implemented an innovative project in 200 Primary and Secondary schools.
- Submitted a proposal to the National Literacy Mission to implement Post Literacy activities in 1616 villages of Ratnagiri District, titled ‘Literacy for Prosperity,’ which was sanctioned in toto.
- Conducted a series of training programs in Non-Formal Education for Tribal instructors from the Raigad district.
- After becoming Executive Secretary of L&T’s Public Charitable Trust, implemented activities of refurbishing physical infrastructure and libraries to promote digital literacy in all the Tribal schools from Talasari Bloch of Palghar district of Maharashtra.
- Introduced the project ‘Science on Wheels’ to promote the teaching of Science in selected schools of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka states of India.
- In the field of Public Health, set up 84 dialysis units for providing low-cost treatment to poor patients.
